A 9-0 Ruling in Favor of Trump Tells Us Everything We Need to Know

By now, you have likely heard that the Supreme Court has ruled on Colorado’s attempt to ban Donald Trump from the ballot in a federal election. Trump emerged victoriously with a 9-0 ruling.

What this means is that each and every Supreme Court justice determined that what Colorado (and all of the other liberal states looking to punish Trump) was attempting to do was illegal.

While a 5-4 ruling would have still allowed Trump to win, a 9-0 ruling is even better. It shows that the entire Supreme Court believes that Trump was not treated fairly. It also shuts the Democrats down by ensuring that they cannot say things like, “Well, that’s because Trump stacked SCOTUS before he left.”

Those that are appointed to the Supreme Court are unbiased. They make their determinations based on their interpretation of the Constitution.

The interpretation is clear: Colorado acted against the Constitution.

The decision was based on the idea that state officials cannot make any kind of determination of who appears on the ballot of a federal election. If they want to do such things for state elections, they have the power to do so. However, when it comes to voting for president, that is a federal matter, and states cannot pick and choose which candidates appear.

Of course, those within Colorado did not take the SCOTUS ruling gracefully.

Jena Griswold, Colorado’s Secretary of State, mentioned in an NBC News interview that she was disappointed. “Ultimately, this decision … leaves open the door for Congress to act to pass authorizing legislation. But we know that Congress is a nearly non-functioning body, so ultimately, it will be up to the American voters to save our democracy in November,” she said.

It should have been up to the American voters from the very beginning. The idea that Colorado wanted to act in such a way that it wouldn’t have been up to the American voters highlights why this was such an easy 9-0 victory in the Supreme Court.

This proves that conservatives can emerge victoriously, and the Supreme Court may not be as tainted as many think.
