Another green energy scam has come screeching to a halt. The liberal-controlled city of Austin, TX, invested nearly $50 million to purchase 46 all-electric buses. CapMetro runs 82 bus routes through the city but has been forced to park its brand-new fleet of electric buses for at least a year. It turns out they don’t have enough charging infrastructure to run the electric buses.
To make matters worse, Austin bought its fleet of buses from Proterra, a green energy company that went bankrupt earlier this year. Liberal cities across the country bought their electric buses from Proterra and now they can’t even get service and repairs for their stupid electric public transportation.
Once again, millions of taxpayer dollars were thrown into a hole to pay for pie-in-the-sky “green” energy BS that turned out to be a scam. What a surprise! Feel free to break out those “Every. Single. Time” memes for this one.
Austin’s transportation board had milked the taxpayers for $255 million to pay for 197 of the scam electric buses. Those plans are literally falling apart now.
For those who don’t know, a diesel-powered bus can run for nearly 24 hours without needing to refuel. An electric bus needs to recharge every 8 to 10 hours. Austin doesn’t have enough chargers to keep up with the demand for running its electric buses.
Electric buses also break down and need repairs twice as often as their diesel counterparts. In 2022, 50% of Austin’s electric buses were broken down at any given time.
So-called green energy is a great way to invest money, however. So long as you don’t have a conscience and don’t mind ripping off the taxpayers to “solve” the fake problem of global warming, you can make money hand-over-fist in the green energy sector!
