MS-13 Member Murders Uber Eats Driver, Not a Peep From Gov. DeSantis

Gov Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has been incredibly vocal in opposition to illegal immigration and the poison it is infusing into the American population, especially by joining forces with fellow conservative Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott to help get illegal aliens relocated to sanctuary cities up in Martha’s Vineyard, MA and other places in the last year. Yet, when the El Salvadorian gang MS-13 is operating just north of Tampa, FL, and kills a Florida resident, mum’s the word.

Oscar Solis, a 30-year-old MS-13 gang member, was arrested on April 24th and charged in the murder of 59-year-old Uber Eats driver Randall Cooke. The husband and father was on his final delivery for the night when he was murdered. According to Pasco County Sherriff’s office, recovered surveillance footage shows Cooke arriving at Solis’ Holiday, FL apartment to deliver when the feed cuts out.

From what investigators have gathered, Cooke had been texting his wife and was yanked inside the apartment. It was then that Solis murdered him, dismembered his corpse, and stuffed him inside trash bags. With another suspect arriving at his residence later, the dude took the bags out to the dumpster to dispose of him. With blood and his wedding ring inside the apartment, detectives didn’t find his body in the bags until days after his murder.

It took a lawsuit to get Uber Eats to turn over the GPS data to Cooke’s phone, which showed him last making the delivery at Solis’ residence, allowing investigators to locate him. While this delay certainly made no difference in how dead the man was, it forced the family to wait unnecessarily long to get answers.

After finding him, Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco gave a press conference about what had happened. “This person, you always say the word ‘evil,’ but this is demonic. This individual, what he did was demonic… this person killed him for no reason and took him away from his family.”

Solis was released on parole back in January, and it was then that he relocated from Indiana to Holiday. In direct violation of his parole, he failed to register as a felon when he arrived in Florida. With a massive criminal record, including the gruesome multiple stabbing of a fellow inmate, aggravated battery, resisting law enforcement, assaulting prison staff, various drug convictions, and numerous convictions for burglary, he was not a model citizen.

Indiana’s liberal release program put a dangerous man back on the streets where he doesn’t belong. Now with a dead husband and stepfather, the family is left picking up the pieces of their once-solidified lives to make sense of such a senseless murder.

Yet the beloved Governor of Florida has avoided this topic like the plague. He is currently on a whirlwind world tour and has yet to discuss what has been happening back in FL. Instead, he has focused on the issues he can bring up in the nations he is visiting. Stopping in Japan, South Korea, Israel, and the UK, he has been trying to present an image of unity between himself and President Trump while downplaying his potential 2024 Presidential bid.

While nobody would expect him to cut his trip short, it would have been more than acceptable for him to comment publicly on this. God knows the man has been running off at the mouth for every other illegal immigration issue, so when a face to one of the most vicious gangs in the US shows up in your backyard, someone needs to speak up about it. Someone needs to call his grieving widow and stepkids to offer condolences. A vow to ensure not only is his killer brought to justice but that the family need not worry about more MS-13 showing up to try and silence them. God knows they are notorious for such crimes.
