Bernie Sanders is Backing the Next AOC, Like We Need a Second One

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is one of the more interesting politicians on the left. She’s loud, opinionated, and often leaves us scratching our heads because of her utter stupidity.

AOC pretends to be an American who is all about helping America. However, her actions are often very different. She is a Democratic Socialist, not a Democrat. It means that she would love to see the country shift toward socialism – a concept that fails in every country where it has ever been tried.

Now, it seems that Bernie Sanders has considered his job to be done grooming AOC to be a good little socialist to carry on in his footsteps. And he’s moving on to his next project – the next AOC.

We really don’t need his help with choosing future politicians. Sanders is someone who should have retired years ago. And with two failed presidential runs, we would have thought that he’d get the hint that Americans don’t want his style of politics.

It’s time to meet Summer Lee. She’s a front-runner for the Pennsylvania House seat that has been left open as a result of Representative Mike Doyle (D-PA) retiring.

Lee is being backed by socialist Senator Bernie Sanders as well as left-wing Senator Elizabeth Warren. Her political path is very similar to that of AOC.

Some of the policies that Lee has openly endorsed should worry us for the future of America. She’s in favor of redistributing wealth (cough, socialism, cough), which would take from the rich and give to the poor. That, of course, would only allow the poor to keep sitting on their butts and accepting hand-outs, which, as we know, does not lend to a very productive society.

She’s also an outspoken proponent of abolishing prisons, which is a highly controversial progressive policy. If we were to abolish prisons, there would be no deterrent for people committing crimes – and criminals would be roaming the streets to commit unthinkable crimes again and again. The only way you don’t believe that is if you believe prisons are racist and that all people are inherently good.

In 2020, Lee tweeted out “Instead of ‘thanking’ Black women, Black voters, and especially, Black organizers… give us the investments we need and deserve, redistribute wealth, ends police violence, abolish the carceral state, commit to building Black directed political power… and reparations.”

This is the biggest joke – she wants a handout for every person of color. Reparations were paid years ago – slavery ended over a century ago, so she needs to let that part of American history go.

Summer Lee is AOC 2.0. When AOC gets knocked down a peg for not being a person of color, Lee can step in to pick up where she left off. The two of them, together, can fight for more representation.

Only, they both have it wrong. They make it sound as though there aren’t already programs for people of color. There are more scholarships available for Black and Hispanic people than there are for whites, but they don’t want to acknowledge that. As for Black directed political power, they may want to look at the makeup of Congress. It’s not as white as it used to be – there’s a significant amount of diversity.

Bernie Sanders is 80 years old…and he’ll be 81 before the year is out. We know he’s going to retire at some point. He may already be thinking about that as he looks to gift us yet another democratic socialist to taint the American democracy.

If we thought AOC was a problem, we haven’t seen anything yet. Summer Lee may be the most extreme we’ve seen. The only thing we can hope for is a red wave to hit that seat in Pennsylvania before it’s time to vote.
