NYC Ruined Forever? Up to 1 Million Noncitizens Could Get to Vote

New York City used to be an amazing city. It’s the home of Broadway and Central Park and the Empire State Building. Rudy Giuliani cleaned up the city throughout the 1990s so that people wanted to visit from all over the world. The crime was low, the city was clean, and the attractions were abundant.

It didn’t take long for NYC to fall. All it required was a bit of liberal leadership. Between Andrew Cuomo’s failures as governor and Bill de Blasio’s failures as mayor, the city is no longer an amazing place to visit.

Crime is up. Pandemic lockdowns are everywhere. And, it only gets worse.

They’ve decided to hand the keys to the city over to those who aren’t even citizens of the United States.

Noncitizens are about to be given the right to vote.

And while we wish that we could continue to blame it all on Bill de Blasio, he’s no longer the mayor. The newest liberal mayor has stepped in and decided that he would continue to let the city fall.

Eric Adams decided that he would approve legislation by the city council so that up to one million noncitizens would be able to vote in all of the local elections.

But…why?

Shouldn’t only those who are actual citizens be able to vote? After all, that would encourage those who are not citizens to work the proper immigration avenues to become citizens.

Since the inception of our country, citizens were granted the right to vote.

Adams is ready to defend his decision, though, commenting that “I believe that New Yorkers should have a say in their government, which is why I have and will continue to support this important legislation.”

He explains that he did have some concerns initially, but he spoke to “colleagues in government” so that his concerns were eased. Now, he looks forward to letting more people get involved in the democratic process.

So, basically, we have another liberal puppet. Adams was supposed to be a welcome change from de Blasio, even if he was still a Democrat. We’ve already seen how many liberals across the country have wanted to give voting rights to noncitizens. And with giving the right to up to one million in New York City, it’s likely to create a negative trend from coast to coast.

It makes sense for the liberals to make this push, too. Most “noncitizens” are those who entered the country illegally or overstayed their visas. They have been given free money and all sorts of other benefits by the Democratic Party. And, so, the liberals know that most will vote in favor of Democratic legislation. It’s a great (and shady) way to make sure that the Democrats get their way in every local election.

The problem with this, of course, is that New York City will forever be changed by such Democratic rule.

Bill de Blasio had warned that this kind of legislation is likely to be challenged, especially because it violates New York state law. Though, that could easily be fixed if Kathy Hochul decides that she wants to be part of the ultra-progressive train, too.

At least the GOP is willing to fight. The New York GOP issued a statement to say that “We will fight, using every legal means necessary, to prevent this legislation from becoming law.” Let’s hope they win, too. We need to preserve our democracy for actual citizens. For any noncitizen who wants a say, perhaps they should think about following our country’s immigration laws and apply for citizenship.
